InfoCision Opens First International Call Center Outsourcing Facility in Ontario
September 29, 2011
Akron, Ohio-based InfoCision (News - Alert) Management Corp., a call center outsourcing powerhouse that until recently was entirely based on U.S. soil, has ventured over the border – the Canadian border, that is.
According to Crain's Cleveland, which employs more than 4,000 people in the U.S., the company opened an office today in Fort Erie, Ontario to help support customers of Toronto-based cable company Rogers Communication. The call center will initially employ 35 agents, with a planned expansion to a total of 100 agents within the next year. In addition to supporting Rogers Communication, the new Fort Erie facility will serve as the call center outsourcing company's home base for serving potential new Canadian clients. Fort Erie is located just across the Canada/U.S. Border from Buffalo, New York.
Today's announcement was made in conjunction with the Fort Erie Economic Development and Tourism Corporation. The Town of Fort Erie and the Fort Erie EDTC were integral partners in getting the facility opened so quickly, said InfoCision in a press release, and the two organizations went out of their way to help InfoCision bring the new jobs to the area. “We couldn't be more excited about opening our first location in Canada,” said Steve Brubaker (News - Alert), InfoCision's chief of staff, at the event to open the new call center. “We are committed to our relationship with Rogers Communications and we believe we can provide the same great service to other Canadian companies and build even more jobs (in Fort Erie) in the future.”InfoCision President and CEO Carl Albright (News - Alert) and Executive Vice President Craig Taylor were also at the event, which included Fort Erie Mayor Douglas Martin, Municipal Councilor Rick Shular, Provincial Member of Parliament Kim Craitor and Anna Annunziata from the office of Rob Nicholson, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada.
