Transcosmos and Indonesia's Salim Group to Undertake Call Center Business
November 28, 2012
With a young and financially stable population, Indonesia’s economy has boomed over the past several years, making it a perfect location for a new contact center.
Recently, transcosmos Inc. and Indonesia's Salim Group's IT company, PT Cyberindo Aditama (CBN) have agreed to establish a joint venture company called PT Transcosmos Indonesia to run call center business in Indonesia. It will be officially established in spring 2013.
In the Indonesian market, an increase in the middle class, purchasing power and consumption demands have been on the rise, so consumption is expected to activate the economy further. transcosmos has speculated that along with the needs for call centers in Indonesia, the demands for high quality would also grow.
This knowledge led to the agreement to establish a joint company with CBN, in order to utilize transcosmos' quality control and operations know-how gained from its experience from providing services in Japan, China, and South Korea. transcosmos hopes to apply its knowledge in increasing sales to corporate clients, and CBN would offer infrastructure technology and business experience in the local market.
“Indonesia has a young population with rising incomes and spending power, and is to become the seventh-largest economy in the world in the next two decades. This provides a great opportunity for CBN and Transcosmos to establish a joint venture contact center company in Indonesia as the demand for high quality services are growing rapidly in line with the fast growing economy of the country,” said Benny Santoso, Executive Director, from Salim Group, in a statement.
Since 1966, transcosmos has combined human resources with innovative technology to enhance the strength of its corporate clients by providing them with value-added services. The company provides IT outsourcing services such as call center services, business process outsourcing services, and digital marketing services as standalone solutions or as combined services to its clients to optimize their marketing efficiencies, expand sales, gain new customers as well as reduce operational cost.
Established 17 years ago, CBN is an IT core company under the Salim Group which runs and Internet service provider business in the domestic Indonesian market. The company started its business as an Internet service provider and over the years, CBN continues to innovate the IT world in Indonesia through improvements and expansion.
Since its expansion to the U.S. in 1988, transcosmos has been working on the overseas expansion of its business services. In the local markets, the organization expanded its call center services into South Korea in 2000 and into China in 2006, and in more recent years into the western regions.
In the future, Transcosmos Indonesia plans to expand its services to offer social media support, digital marketing services including Internet advertising and website production, and EC full support in order to help corporate clients increase sales and reduce costs.
